This was my initial experience using an aftermarket cooler (Noctua NH-U9S) and I took roughly 10 minutes to figure out how to reattach the fan before installing the cooler. I applied the NT-H1 thermal paste that came with it, placing just a few dots without overdoing it. It's been several years since I used thermal paste and was focused on the cooler, not realizing it dries quickly. I'm wondering if I waited too long and should reapply or is it acceptable?

It depends on the paste, but 10 minutes should be fine.

If they were dots and you could fit the cooler onto the CPU effortlessly, I wouldn't be concerned. But if it becomes hardened and you end up with gaps between the dots, I think your thermal layers might give you a hint.

Was die Qualität des Pastes gut oder anständig? Wenn ja, 10 Minuten reichen nicht. Solange es eine gute Verteilung hat, ist das in Ordnung.

It's okay.
Think about how long the paste stays on a third-party cooler before you put it in.
How many weeks/months?
