Did you accidentally change both your CPU and GPU at once?
I recently experienced a major GPU failure. When it was time to upgrade, I decided to replace my CPU as well. I chose a setup combining a 6700xt and a Ryzen 5 5600x. It offered good value for the cost. Swap out the old components and install the new ones—simple enough... System boots! That’s great. I accessed the UEFI/BIOS to configure XMP, set PCIE to Gen 4, and enabled the resizable bar. Restarted, and... nothing came through. Fans are running, RGB lights are on. No output at all. Is this because I skipped running DDU first? Might my extension cables be the issue? Should I reinstall the old hardware and start over (ugh) or is there another way? Need help!

- Ryzen 5 5600x (upgraded from 1800x)

- Radeon 6700xt (upgrade from 5700xt) – RIP.
No, I haven't performed any reset operations yet. Let me know if you need further assistance.
I didn’t manage to get back in. I’ll see if there’s a way to reset the BIOS. Updated: yes, I can. Tried it now. Still nothing.
Confirming the setup: GPU connected to the video output, not on the motherboard back. You can reinstall the old CPU. Possible issue is faulty extension cables causing poor contact. Try removing them and restarting. This process requires patience.
This might require replacing the seat or inspecting for bent pins. When that happens, I'd remove everything from the case and run it on a test bench using the basic hardware. Regarding the DDU question, it's probably not about display drivers—they're loaded after the BIOS. If it won't even start, you're likely missing something fundamental.
Did you refresh your profile after joining the team? Previous versions might lack full compatibility with 5xxx series processors and memory speeds. Consider using the BIOS FLASHBACK feature to update via USB.
Use the old CPU to start up; if it works, it might indicate an older BIOS version.
Yup, put in my old CPU, booted right up. Flashing a new bios as we speak. Phew. Hopefully this fixes it. Weird how I was able to get into Bios the first time though. Edit: for the record, it is upgrading from Bios version 1.50 to version 1.E1. Edit 2: Flash successful. Reinstalling new CPU. Wish me luck.
Great news! The new bios worked perfectly. It's time to run DDU and reinstall the radeon drivers just in case. Sigh, windows 10 seems to be having issues again. Time to get a fresh key.
