Hello everyone, I had a weird experience recently. Well, it was honest for one whole year coming up. So, about a year ago, my computer froze up suddenly from nowhere. No matter what OS I used, whether it was Windows 11 (even trying to install it and freezing during the start) or Linux, everything would freeze out of nowhere. But I only noticed this when things were sitting still. I checked my CPU, RAM, hard drives, nothing changed. I also ran a bunch of OCCT tests, nothing came up either. Since it happened while the computer was idle, I googled some stuff about what happens when a system is just sitting there and found C-States. Turning them off stopped the freezes completely. Now, a year later, I updated my BIOS and reset all my settings to default (C-States turned back on). My computer didn't even start loading past the motherboard logo when it was trying to load the OS. It wouldn't boot into Linux, Windows, or even the Windows Recovery partition. Of course, if I disabled C-States again and everything went back to normal, no more freezes happened. Can someone who knows about this better tell me if I just have a bad CPU? Or maybe I messed something up wrong? I'm running these computers: Motherboard: MSI MEG X570 Godlike CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Thanks.

You might have been using a weak power supply that causes too much heat and energy loss by turning on and off the voltage constantly without letting it sit still. This could just be a bad power source, or maybe something inside your computer's power cables (the MOSFETs) or the power regulation units. It is hard to know for sure. What kind of power supply do you have?
