The battery approach should also be viable; if it’s convenient to reach, that makes sense. I’ll have to take out my video card to get to it. The procedure in your guide is secure as Tan discussed, but make sure to disconnect the power cord first. I prefer using a screwdriver with a star or Torx bit and simply insert it once the power cable is removed.

With the BIOS reset, you can attempt manual undervolting and check how low the stock voltage can drop while maintaining stability during P95 small FFT. If it crashes, revert to your last stable setting and gradually increase the multiplier by 100MHz until instability appears in small FFT. Then increment voltage in small steps (one jump) until you regain stability. Keep repeating this process and monitor temperatures until you reach a comfortable level without exceeding safe limits. I’d suggest aiming for 3600x specifications for a modest performance boost. It reminds me every morning, friend!

Thanks for the feedback. Regarding your questions, 100°C+ temperatures aren't typical for small FFT; usually they're higher. As for "unstable in small FFT," it refers to numerical issues that arise when using a limited number of samples or low-resolution analysis.
