Did the cpu burned?
Hello. I recently connected my second computer, which I had just purchased a short time ago. It was unplugged before, but when I reconnected it, it started on its own. I was puzzled at first, but soon after the monitor turned on. After a few moments, nothing appeared on the screen. Later, while moving the cabinet, I noticed a faint burning smell. I attempted to shut it down using the power button, but it didn’t work. Eventually, I powered it off through the outlet and tried again. The same issue occurred. This time, I took off the cabinet cover. It became clear that the fan was gradually slowing down until it stopped completely.
My questions are:
1) How much CPU power was lost?
2) Was there any loss of the fan?
3) Could something else have failed (like the motherboard)?
4) In the past, I had trouble turning on the computer. If the power cable wasn’t secured properly in the outlet or in the socket, it wouldn’t have started. Could this poor connection have caused the problem?
It is probable that the power supply unit failed and subsequently caused other parts to malfunction.
