It looks better in general if you don't mess with either one. The only concern I have is how much electricity they use, but both devices seem happy about using more energy instead of being tired when they are pushed hard.

Yeah, that was my first guess. But I still want to find out why things aren't lining up right. Plus, I have a bit of an addiction for puzzles. Now I have one to figure out so I'm eager to try and solve it before I feel completely satisfied. Haha.

The GPU is getting hotter and using more power because you've raised the limits. If it hits those voltage caps often, it slows down like a CPU would. I don't know exactly what's going on with the processor yet.

Cool, but what about how hot the CPU gets and how much power it uses when you push it hard over the normal speed? That really makes no sense to me.

That specific setting was out of reach for me. If you told me how things work, I'd know that changing the voltage or frequency makes a system run inefficiently and drops power usage completely. The best way to manage energy is just to lower the voltage when it's still safe enough to keep working right now.

Sorry for being so late on the reply, I've been busy preparing for the weekend. Ha ha. So basically I swapped the EVGA 850 GQ (which is 850W, obviously) for a Corsair VS550 (which is 550W, again, obviously). After running the same test as before, I'm pretty much getting the same results as before. So I'm sure that the problem isn't with the PSU quality or capacity. So once again I have to ask, why are the scores so different when I breathe on the CPU clocks? I did try raising the memory clock up to 2800mhz and it made no difference to either score (it was predictable), but as soon as I touched the CPU multiplier and went up (only got as far as 3.7ghz this time) both the CPU Wattage and Temps rose dramatically. Honestly, I spent years overclocking, I only stopped messing with PCs around 2016, have things really changed that much in four years or am I making a rookie mistake here?
