I recently installed a new processor and motherboard (i5-7600k and the Gigabyte Gaming K5) and faced some issues with overclocking. I used presets in the BIOS and set my own values, but the CPU-Z shows the correct multiplier. My setup is at the maximum of 44 or 4400 MHz, yet the core speed never reaches the stock turbo of 4200 MHz.

I've tested various hardware monitors and they all display the same data. I also tried EasyTune for overclocking, which succeeded, but I prefer using the BIOS instead of software. I'm curious why EasyTune works while the BIOS doesn't.

I FIGURED IT OUT!!! I'm really glad, the unnecessary bloatware in app center, together with EasyTune, was the reason!! I won't and won't ever suggest anyone to install them again! Remove them now before it's too late!

I GOT IT!! I'M VERY HAPPY! THE BAD APPS LIKE APP CENTER AND EASYTUNE WERE CAUSING THIS! I DEFINITELY DON'T AND WON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE INSTALL THEM AGAIN! UNINSTALL NOW WHILE YOU CAN!
