I bought the RX6800 today to upgrade from my RX6600, which is still functional but not ideal. The issue isn’t obvious in the photos—here’s a detailed view of the problem. The performance drops in certain apps, and the visuals don’t work well even at higher resolutions. It doesn’t appear in safe mode. I’m unsure if it’s a Windows conflict or an AMD driver problem, but the RX6600 doesn’t handle it. If possible, fixing a setting might save me from another long drive tomorrow.

You removed the RX6600 software and added the RX6800 version.

I completed the full AMD cleanup and downloaded the Adrenalin driver from AMD. After switching back to the basic Windows driver, the issues disappeared. I've repeated the process several times and adjusted settings like refresh rates, but the dots remain fixed, even when using SteamVR over Airlink with my Oculus Quest 2. I'm attempting to reinstall version 22.5.1, but neither the standard nor the optional 22.8.2 versions seem to resolve it. It appears to function normally otherwise. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I also recently attempted to run Blade and Sorcery, which turned into a confusing strobe discofest. It seems there might be an issue. I'm planning to revert back to the 6600 for now. Switching it in for a replacement tomorrow should likely resolve the problem.

I also tested the display ports (fortunately I got a cable) and they didn’t function. They work perfectly on my 6600, just confirmed. I’ll label this as resolved—it seems the issue lies with the card itself, which is beyond my repair capabilities. Bye bye. I’m wondering if they still have a 6800 in stock, and I don’t want to commit to buying a Nvidia model. Maybe I’ll wait until tomorrow. Fingers crossed I won’t have to spend another couple hundred on a 6900 series...

I've experienced displayport issues due to driver problems before, especially with my GTX 1080 and now the RX6700XT. If you haven't tried it yet, I suggest using DDU as a solution. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis...nload.html It might help. If that doesn't resolve the problem, it's possible the card has a hardware fault. Make sure you're not using another PC to test, and check if the PCI-e slot is compatible.
