I've been struggling with Zayo and speed problems on a 1G DIA circuit for months. We're located in the same datacenter, and the connection from their handoff to our gateway uses SMF, roughly 50 feet away. Our gateway is an Ubiquiti UISP Console, which should handle it well. We've had similar performance with both a UISP Router and an Edgerouter X SFP. The SMF link goes through a 1G SFP module. When running the built-in UISP speed test from the gateway, we consistently see downloads between 200-300Mb and uploads over 900Mb. Testing on a laptop via WifiMan, SpeedTest, etc., matches these results. Two weeks ago, Zayo sent a technician to troubleshoot nearby and found no issues. Interestingly, the day before and during their test I achieved nearly 1Gb download speeds from our gateway. However, the following day the speeds dropped back to 200-300Mb. They escalated the matter and today I set up an Iperf3 server connected through a switch to our SMF uplink so their team could measure our speeds directly. They provided logs showing speeds around 700Mb with parallel streams. This suggests the circuit is functional, yet I still can't exceed 300Mb. Logically, TCP windowing might be the culprit, but it doesn’t explain the results from our gateway. Honestly, networking isn’t my area of expertise—I’m unsure what to do next. Any advice?
