tl;dr: I rebooted my Asus X470-F with the new Ryzen 5900X but still didn’t post. The motherboard kept showing a boot Q-LED code, so I wasn’t sure if I’d made a mistake or if there was a real problem. I upgraded the case for looks and airflow, kept the same board since it worked with the latest chip, but forgot to update the BIOS. After reassembling everything, I hit a DRAM Q-LED error and then a VGA error too. The boot didn’t turn off, even though I hadn’t touched the M.2 SSD or any boot device during the process. I checked all troubleshooting steps—CMOS reset, SSD removal—but nothing fixed it. Now I’m stuck and seeking advice online, hoping it’s just a compatibility issue or a simple oversight.

Check the BIOS to confirm availability. Have you explored another M.2 port? Consider clearing all drives and uploading from the installation media. The CPU passed its self-test, so no BIOS update is required. Skipping the CPU swap and flashing again would save time.

Avoid tightening the CPU too much, as this can distort the board and lead to problems.

Unfortunately, the computer isn't responding, so I can't reach the BIOS. I've checked the second M.2 port and removed the HDD, but it still doesn't work.

I just adjusted the CPU cooler because I realized I had over-tightened it before switching from the original Wraith to the Scythe Fuma 2 model. Unfortunately, that didn’t improve things.
