Diagnose Ryzen 7 5800x issues
Hey everyone. I'm new to this whole forums thing but im at a loss right now. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a 3070 from gigabyte. And then realized my Ryzen 5 3600 was bottlenecking. I waited a few months and grabed a R7 5800x and swapped it out with my old cpu. Thinking this would be more than enough cpu for any bottleneck I was causing before, I was hopeful. However now the 5800x wont boost to the full 4.8ghz. It maxes around 4.4 and also reaches Temps of 90°c. I am using a cooler master aio that should be more than capable of cooling this cpu. And plenty of airflow in my case. I've seen lots of videos about the 5800x thermal throttling itself but I'm not sure if there's a fix for this? I'm just looking for a discussion and possibly some help getting my cpu to boost properly and get the preformance expected out of a $450 cpu. Thanks
You could mention the high performance of your 5800x processor. What kind of cooler are you using? Have you applied enough thermal paste and verified the cooler installation?
