Diagnose MSI H510m setup issues Optimize performance for gaming Resolve common problems efficiently
The latest build you're using is I3 10100 with 8GB DDR4, 2667MHz, GTX1060, 6GB NVMe SSD. You wanted a upgrade to 32GB DDR4 3600 CL16 and RTX 3060. After replacing those parts, nothing works—just a black screen. You've tried JBT and CMOS battery fixes, but the old RAM and GPU still don't post. The debug light shows up on DRAM, yet the hardware remains unresponsive. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
Utilize a single stick of RAM without a GPU. Connect the available video port on your motherboard for display output. Inform us if you reach P.O.S.T.
I attempted to install the 3600 RAM one at a time, along with the old 2667 RAMs, but nothing worked. I also tried using the integrated graphics on the i3 10100 chipset without any results. When I connected both new and old RAM/GPU setups to another machine, it functioned properly yesterday and this morning. The problem only appeared after the swap, which is confusing. Appreciate your help!
I attempted to install the new 3600 rams one by one, along with the old 2667 rams in the same order. No issues reported. I used the integrated graphics on the i3 10100 and also tried it without the new rams. The setup worked fine yesterday and this morning. The problem only appeared after the swap, which is confusing. Thank you for your response! Also, the M.IIS H510M lists RAM support up to 3200—would that pose a concern?
Did you take out the dedicated video card during testing? Leaving it on while using iGPU might cause problems because the system could attempt output through the built-in graphics. With a fresh RAM stick, you can re-set the CMOS and see if the DRAM LED error remains or changes when the GPU is removed. Also, unplug any other unnecessary peripherals to avoid interference.
I'm working here right now but can't focus on it. Still excited to get it fixed. I'll update you soon.
