I just added an EKWB Velocity 2 AM5 waterblock to my setup and secured the screws until they started showing resistance. Once everything was set up and the PC powered on, the DRAM indicator on my motherboard began blinking but failed to stay on. Parts list includes AMD 7700X, AsRock X670E, Steel Legend 2x 16GB G, Skill Flare X5 WD Black 1TB NVMe, and Corsair CX750M.

These settings are designed to prevent excessive tightening, ensuring proper contact pressure is maintained.

The screws are built with a hard-stop system, ensuring the block locks in place once threads are fully engaged. This prevents excessive tightening of the water block and safeguards your motherboard and CPU from harm.

I believed that was the situation. Every EK waterblock I've used has included some kind of safeguard like this. I just didn't think it applied universally across all models.

They use a 280mm elite AIO, and it's the same issue. Most makers now include this. Back in the day, only stock coolers had this.

The screws were secured using a diamond-shaped tightening method, applying a few turns at a time. However, I observed that occasionally the screws struggled to penetrate the backplate and would break.
