Valued Diablo 2:LoD experience with countless hours (comparable to RuneScape). The main concern before purchasing is account and character loss after 90 days of inactivity. About a year ago I completed a ladder season on Diablo 2:LoD via Battle.net, and many still continue to spam. Maphacking ETC. Rumors suggest the remaster will retain Diablo 2's original graphics but with better visuals. I hope there are fewer cheaters online and the inactive deletion feature is removed. While I grasp their reasoning for deleting accounts, it seems improvements might be underway by 2021. What are your thoughts?

I tried the beta version; the visuals improved a lot (good news). The gameplay remains unchanged. They claim enhanced controls and hacker protection for online sessions, though it's unclear what that means. I also learned your previous saves should function in offline or solo mode, but you can't apply them to online servers. Likely they're trying to prevent cheating.

I think I came across some info about safeguarding against cheaters. I assumed it was about keeping your characters or accounts safe after being inactive, though we’ll find out more. Planning to download Scum and start playing right away xD

Just tried playing Diablo 2 on Nintendo Switch in handheld mode—it was a childhood dream come true. The controls and gameplay exceeded expectations. But getting the initial sign-up and connecting to Battle.net was slow and had some issues. It dropped a few times.
