I face another issue this time, and it's more serious since I searched for the code28 error on Google but couldn't find a solution. In my Device Manager I have several problems, and Windows can't locate drivers or fixes for them. I installed all drivers from the Asus website for my motherboard: Asus Strix X299 E-Gaming. I started the Windows update and have the latest version. What should I do next? Or should I just move on and accept it? All other devices are working fine except one. The base system device with code28 appears in the list (there are 80 devices... what is going on?). There are also entries for PCI data acquisition, signal processing controller, performance counter, system interrupt controller, SM bus controller, and a PCI memory controller. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When the machine encounters errors, I would start by identifying which component is responsible. The most straightforward approach is to use the hunt and miss technique or trial and error. Essentially, I’d attempt to disable one device at a time and check if the machine starts up with that device removed. If it does, the issue lies with that part. Alternatively, if removing a device doesn’t resolve the problem, the issue isn’t there. Keep testing until you pinpoint the faulty component. Good luck!
