Are there any lights on the motherboard that could show what’s wrong? You might notice a group of lights marked with names like "CPU" or "GPU." It’s possible, but it’s unlikely if you’ve been careful.

Unfortunately I can't examine it since applying new thermal paste would be necessary and I don't have any. I suspect there might be an issue elsewhere.

You may reuse existing thermal paste, especially if it's still fresh. With a full ATX case, placing the graphics card in the lower slot is possible. There could be a PCIe connection problem.
