Hello everyone, I'm facing a puzzling problem. I just moved to a new computer with the latest CPU and RAM. At first, everything worked perfectly—especially during my first boot. I turned on XMP for the night, but now things have taken a turn. The system is slowing down significantly, so I tried a restart. While doing that, I forgot to install the case fan in the right slot. After reconnecting everything, nothing happened except the CPU red light staying on. I suspect it might have been on even when the PC was running. I've tried several fixes in order: swapping out the GPU, changing RAM slots, removing RAM, resetting CMOS with a battery, and reinstalling RAM. Each time I restarted, Windows would be slow until it crashed. The red LED kept blinking. I'm really confused—what should I do next?

No pressure was applied to or near the cooler mount.

According to my understanding, the MB has a four-pin connector while the Casecooler requires three, which makes it fit very smoothly.

It seems strange that the PC was functioning normally at first, but then it suddenly slowed down significantly, leading me to turn it off abruptly. I worry that my recently purchased CPU might have failed right then.

I clarify what "slow" means in technical terms. Are we talking about reduced performance or delays? We need precise details—like whether the CPU speed is dropping, how long it takes to boot, or how long web browsing takes. For each task, I’ll break down the process step by step, showing timing and behavior.

I'm not claiming it's true, but the article brings back memories of that tale: The point I made was about cooler mounts—whether uneven, too tight, or too loose—often causing boot issues when moving the PC or adjusting the case.

I noticed the system was running slowly. I looked into TaskManager to check component usage—CPU load was only 3%. I didn’t understand what you meant by CPU frequency. After shutting down the PC, it started working again briefly, but now it won’t boot at all. I tried a CMOS reset with a jumper, reinstalled RAM and booted it once more, hoping for improvement. Someone mentioned DDR5 needs time to sync with the CPU, which might explain the delay. Right now, the machine is inactive, the red LED stays off, and the screen remains black.

I have replaced both the CPU and the cooler above it now, but the screws are being tightened excessively—same outcome.

I've tried Q-Flash, used the jumper to reset the CMOS, and started with just one RAM, but nothing has worked. I'm really stuck and need another suggestion.

This morning (I’m based in Germany) I successfully re-entered BIOS. Initially everything seemed normal, CPU at 20°, XMP turned off, but a CMOS reset alert appeared—until the system went dark again. The red light stayed on continuously. I’ve attached some photos for reference.
