Device with memory problems causing crashes and blue screen errors
I'm facing a few problems with my computer. Recently I switched from an FX 8350 to a Ryzen 2700 setup at the end of last year. The first issue is that when I attempt to sleep, it doesn't fully power off. The fans and lights activate but the screen remains dark. I have to force shut down and restart it to get it working. The second problem occurred a few weeks after adding extra RAM. I bought a dual-channel kit that matched my existing one and installed it in the empty slots. After a couple of weeks, I began experiencing BSODs shortly after Windows launched, displaying various error codes such as Kmode Exception not handled, memory management error, and system service exception. I managed to run Windows in safe mode and used the memory diagnostic tool, which indicated one of the RAM sticks was faulty. I removed a stick, ran the diagnostic again, and it resolved for a while. Then BSODs started again. I removed the other stick, and the system functioned normally. Now I'm trying to figure out the root cause. It seems like either the motherboard or CPU might be faulty, or there could be issues with Windows, drivers, or BIOS. I'm uncertain which is the main problem and what steps to take next. Any advice would be helpful. Edit: To clarify, both RAM modules work when inserted into the A1 and B1 slots and appear normal during diagnostics. However, placing any stick in the A2 or B2 slots triggers BSODs with different error codes.
