The most interesting thing happened recently. I purchased two 5 meter USB cables from China. On one of my notebooks, the microscope camera doesn’t recognize it, and even when I tried an iPhone, it also didn’t show up. I tested all three ports—two USB 3 and one USB 2. On another notebook, the microscope camera was unrecognized too, but the iPhone worked. Then came the confusing part: on the first notebook, if I connected the USB 3 hub and plugged in the cable, both the microscope camera and iPhone became recognized. 😕
What’s going on?
I was planning to shorten the cables to four and a half meters, thinking they were too long, but the hub was confusing me. I’m completely lost right now.

Yes. But the power adapter isn't connected to it. Also, I previously had a different Chinese cable of 5 meters that worked directly with the camera without any issues. Currently, the short type C cable also functions correctly when plugged into the camera.

The suggested length for USB cables is generally five meters, unless they are designed for external power or include signal enhancement features. Low-cost options using narrow wires might not reach this distance.
