I don’t see a suitable category for this situation. Many people have Wi-Fi at home, but some devices rely solely on Ethernet and can’t connect to Wi-Fi. You might need a bridge or adapter that lets your Ethernet-only PC join the network wirelessly. Let me know if you’d like suggestions on such solutions.

Consider a USB Wi-Fi card or a PCIe Wi-Fi card.

You're asking about your Linux distribution since you mentioned using WiFi adaptors. What OS are you running?

Consider using a powerline adapter. It should allow Ethernet to connect from the computer to the device, which might avoid driver problems. (No prior experience with this model, though it appears well-reviewed.)

WiFi and servers should not be combined. Consider using Moca adapters if coax is routed properly. There are WiFi bridges available that connect Ethernet devices to Wi-Fi networks. I can't confirm the effectiveness.
