Hello everyone! I recently purchased a computer and managed to get it this evening. At first, turning it on was tricky—it would power off right after the third attempt. After a short wait, I could download Steam Brave, but now it shuts down immediately when I try to start it. The CPU light flickers on and then turns off.

Here are the details:
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Water Cooling: ARTIC Freezer III PRO ARGB
Motherboard: GIGABYTE B850 EAGLE WIFI6E
RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Crucial Pro DDR5 6000MHz
GPU: RTX 5080 16GB GIGABYTE Windforce OC
Storage: 2TB Lexar NM790 NVMe M.2 SSD
Power Supply: MSI MAG A850GL 80+Gold

When I first plugged in the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and even connected an Xbox controller, it worked for a while. Now it seems to be affected by the water cooling setup. I’ll keep monitoring to see if the fans start up properly. If you need anything else—photos or further help—just let me know! Have a great day!

Which power supply unit is being used? Did you log the temperatures of your CPU or GPU prior to shutting down?

OP mentioned MSI MAG A850GL 80+Gold in his post. Testing with labs on the 750 version didn’t go well, and I found some failure reports on Reddit as well. @LuniLeVer double-check all PSU connectors—make sure they’re fully and correctly plugged into the motherboard (top CPU connector, side wide one, and GPU cable). If you can, check the CPU temperatures either in BIOS (it’s usually cold there) or when you boot into Windows. If temps stay low, the issue might be with the PSU, so consider replacing it.
