Hey there folks, so I've build the following Computer in an H6 flow Asrock B650e riptide Wifi AMD 7800x3d rtx4080Super 32gb ram g.skill trident Nzxt Kraken 360 rgb Yesterday everything ran totally fine and when I wanted to boot my Computer this morning it booted for a few seconds and then shut downed itself. The Kraken was telling me about the Water Temp going up - shut off at around 50 *C. I did some digging and did a CMOS reset, now I could go beyond the log in screen, then shut off. Then I removed the Bios Battery for a few minutes and and tried again: Now I don’t have a display on my GPU the ports all recognise if I plug something in but after a few seconds it's „no display“ So using hdmi into motherboard I looked into Bios (which was flickering and running at 5 fps). Everything seemed fine. NZXT even recognised the pump but it only went max1700rpm. I rebuilt everything but to no avail. I even think I might have stressed the Mthboards GPU slot a bit too much but idk. Maybe the Pump just died and I broke a lot more while in Panic mode…I got a research paper deadline and don’t want to/don't have time to start over…it’s saved in a Cloud with Hardware access key to my computer only (not smart, I now know) I should mention that the last days were REALLY hot here and I gamed trough them. Room temp was at 36*C most of the time In the Video the shutdown was right after I tapped in my password. Edit2: the computer tried to restart itself the first three time but doesn’t even try that anymore. all the parts are at max 1 year old. The PSU is likely shutting down normally, not a BSOD. Regarding power, yes, I have a UPS in place. It might need cleaning sometimes because the wall power can be unstable.
That's just a minor detail. If the computer runs smoothly and stays still, it can function without it. My old desktop I placed in the bedroom for movie nights broke around 7 years ago, but the GPU is still working as long as you don’t play intense games with the case. Would you like to check the CPU temperature in the BIOS, since most systems now show this on the main screen? High temps could cause issues. Regarding the CPU, it’s a good idea to verify the cooling setup—thermal paste and tightness matter. It seems like a past problem where the CPU would expand when hot, then settle and reduce heat transfer. Gaps can block heat flow. Could also point to a failing pump or motherboard. Thanks for the update! The PSU in question is 850 Watt quiet? Pure Power 12 M Modular 80+ Gold. We don’t have a UPS system or extra outlets, and I haven’t experienced any BSODs. Everything worked smoothly for about two months after installing a new GPU, case, and cooler. Today I reapplied thermal paste three times—first using the stock paste from NZXT—and made sure all screws were tightened evenly. I’m considering returning or replacing the Kraken with warranty through Mindfactory. The PSU seems under a lot of stress, but it’s manageable. I’m not an expert, but I’m keeping an eye on things.
I noticed temperatures reaching up to 102°C in BIOS. Shutdown occurs at a maximum of 105°C (at least emergency shutdowns still work). The GPU isn't showing display either with or without clip because of CMOS reset. Fans aren't spinning and it doesn't recognize in NZXT Cam. Possibly the power supply is the issue?
Verify the cooling system. It might be a faulty pump, a loose mounting point, or poor thermal paste.
It seems the equipment performed well during the previous two months under those external conditions, so the issue might be related to the pump.
I'm really concerned about power consistency. It could be a failing PSU or inconsistent wall voltage. If you have an extra air cooler, testing it might remove thermal throttling. A UPS is definitely worth considering, particularly for your current setup.
