Device shutting down frequently due to disconnection issues.
Bought a WD Blue SA510 1TB SSD a while back and set it up as my D: partition. Recently began experiencing issues where the drive disconnects and reconnects every few minutes, causing Explorer to close and OneDrive errors since the folder is on this drive. Sometimes it shows a prompt about what to do when reconnecting. Looking for tips on fixing this.
Consider some options. Start by verifying the connections to ensure the drive is properly linked to your computer and the cable is intact. If it uses an external enclosure, try plugging it directly into your PC to eliminate enclosure-related issues. Also, look for driver and firmware updates for the drive, and use diagnostic tools like CrystalDiskInfo to check for errors. You can find an update guide from WD here: https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/de...-available. Check the Windows Event Viewer for any system errors linked to the drive. If these steps don<|pad|>, the problem might be hardware-related; then contact the manufacturer for support or a replacement.
You should examine the data in the event viewer for any anomalies or irregular patterns.
Firmware is up to date. The event viewer reported issues: Event 51 on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR6 during paging, and Event 157 indicating a surprise removal of disk 0. CHKDSK d:/f/r/x encountered an error during scanning. There was also an unspecified error (696e647863686b2e 548) and another (6e74667363686b2e 1847). I’ll replace all cables completely. If this doesn’t resolve it, it may indicate a faulty drive.
