Model details: Corsair HX750 PSU GTX 1050 Ti (MSI OC) Phenom II X3 720 CPU (stock cooler), 8GB DDR3 RAM (Kingston Hyper X). Your PC has been acting strange lately—initially under heavy load it would freeze, then it started going black completely. When it shuts down, audio and video stop, and the power button fails. The PSU switch is needed to turn it off. Please help identify possible causes, especially since fans and LEDs remain active during these events.
I haven’t located the problem yet. After using it, my CPU temperature reaches about 40°C. It’s been happening for a week or so, and it seems to be getting worse. For instance, I could run Assetto Corsa and Spotify without issues, but now the PC shuts down completely.
It would also help to note that the GPU and CPU functioned properly on an older AM2 motherboard. The performance issues only appeared after upgrading to a new PSU and motherboard.
Before this update, I was using power-saving mode on my motherboards. Switching to Asus optimal and then normal settings caused a WHEA Uncorrectable error when trying to boot a game. This suggests the problem might not be solely with the PSU, but could also involve the motherboard itself.
I changed the PSU and cable, but the blue screen keeps appearing. Any advice would be great.
It seems like a brief electrical issue occurred, similar to what happened with a damaged USB header on my Z390 motherboard. It would reset after a short time, sometimes lasting a few minutes before restarting again.
I’ve installed a new motherboard and CPU due to this problem. I’m keeping the same case setup. If it keeps happening, consider removing the USB header and audio cables to test further.
