When I select the hibernate feature instead of powering off or using sleep, I sometimes experience crashes. The Event Viewer logs indicate unexpected failures. I’m running Windows 10 Home version 20H2, Build 19042.1526, with Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0. My setup includes WinAeroTweaker, disabled automatic updates, and no plans to update due to UI changes that might break certain features. The hardware is an Asus ROG G14 with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS and RTX 3060 mobile (non-animatrix). I’m using BIOS version GA401QM.410. The crashes seem to occur during transitions—specifically when the screen goes black while hibernating or entering hibernation mode. If you need details about what processes run at that moment, just let me know.

The amount of available space on the drive for hiberfil.sys depends on your system configuration and usage.

It's a laptop that comes with just one SSD, a 1TB drive, and about 113GB remaining out of the original 933GB. Likely everything is stored on that single drive.

I've never discovered a genuine necessity for rest or hibernation. The brief periods said to be saved don't justify the issues these states often create. Unless you intend to maintain the machine beyond three years, the stress on parts under typical use won't be evident in everyday situations. REMINDER: this isn't relevant for hardcore gamers. Still, if you're not planning to keep it that long anyway, I usually power down my laptop at least twice daily. It's now six years old, and it's only changed a battery charger (lost it once at a coffee shop). Every six months I take out the case, clean dust, and tidy the interior.

You can also reset your recently launched applications once they're closed. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1386...-10-a.html
