Last week I observed unusual behavior on my PC. It would power up immediately after pressing the power button, unlike before. After a long period without power, I always unplug it after extended use. During that time, the system would react strangely—pressing the power button caused the motherboard, fans, and RGB lights to flash, then shut down instantly with a few clicks from the PSU. I had to keep pressing the power button until it booted correctly. It didn’t enter a boot loop; it would turn on and off each time I pressed it, but once it started up normally, everything functioned properly. I checked voltages afterward and everything was within range. After running a 3Dmark stress test for five hours, playing F1 22 for ten hours while monitoring CPU and GPU stats, all parameters were stable—FPS, temperatures, voltages were normal. I even reassembled the system, re-flashed the BIOS, reset default settings, and reconnected all cables after checking for shorts. There were no stutters, shutdowns, or BSODs upon startup. A warm boot was normal, unlike a cold boot which seemed erratic. I shared a video showing its behavior during a cold start. Do you have any suggestions for this issue?

It looks like an OCP issue with the power supply or a boot loop involving the GPU. Try removing one RAM stick from slots A2 or B2 and check if the system boots correctly.

Did you say this comes from the wall? It’s not ideal for the power supply because the capacitors lose their charge gradually, and every time you connect it, they need to fully recharge before it can start properly. It’s possible the PSU is faulty now.

I don't believe the issue is with the CPU or GPU because the system runs AAA games smoothly with no problems once powered on, even when using RTX at normal frame rates and stable temperatures according to benchmarks. It's been operating continuously for 12 hours without any issues, but restarting it tomorrow morning will be difficult.

Tried fifteen minutes on the Furmark 1440p preset and the system stayed stable. Temperatures were normal, matching the expected voltages.

It's not ideal to turn off and restart the computer frequently because it doesn't use much energy when idle.

It might not have been mentioned as broken, but the 3080 could be triggering the OCP and causing it to stop functioning

A power supply usually performs well under steady loads, even if it's not very reliable. However, during startup and other fluctuations, it can supply power and cut off when overcurrent protection activates.

I kept it connected overnight and it launched with fewer power button clicks. It began up after 3 seconds.
