I changed my CPU from a Ryzen 3 3200G to a Ryzen 5 5600G, everything functioned smoothly until it began crashing unexpectedly after two days. The issues grew more frequent until I couldn't log in on Windows at all, though I could still access the BIOS. It was late at night when I checked the next day. When I turned on the power button, all lights and fans activated, but the screen remained blank. I tested basic connections—reconnected cables, tried different displays—and even replaced RAM and the graphics card without success. Even after the system started working again, I closely monitored temperatures, assuming a thermal problem, though the CPU never exceeded 60°C.

CPU details: Ryzen 5 5600G, previously a Ryzen 3 3200G; it operated perfectly before the upgrade. GPU: MSI Mech 2x RX 6650 XT on an ASRock A320M-HDV motherboard (considered outdated). I upgraded to P7.20 beforehand and experienced no issues for two days. Power supply: Corsair TX750M, RAM: one TeamGroup DDR4 stick (8GB) and one Elite 8000 (8GB), both functioning adequately.

I updated the BIOS to version 6.20 prior to the replacement, and during the first two days it worked fine. The problem arose after that update. My motherboard specs are listed online, but I’m unsure if an older chipset could cause this issue. I suspect a BIOS configuration error or a hardware mismatch, though it seemed stable initially.

Update: I managed to restore the display, but I’m still stuck on the Windows login screen before the crash and the system restarting. It might be a Windows or BIOS-related issue. I don’t know how to resolve it, so I hope someone can help.

Do you have your 3200g left, and have you considered returning it?

Restarting the BIOS to its default state will not alter the firmware version, just the configuration settings. It’s advisable to reset the BIOS as it won’t lower the version number.

Reset BIOS if possible, otherwise attempt a full flash of the newest BIOS, just in case. Install fresh Windows using only one RAM stick.

I still possess the 3200g, but it isn't functioning either.

I've re-flushed the bios, but the results remain unchanged.

Did you take out all components from the case and attempt a breadboard setup? Ensure only essential parts remain inside, using just one RAM stick and no external drives. Your graphics card should be connected, keeping it minimal for booting. Also, verify if the old CPU is still present before proceeding.

They removed everything from the case and it functioned, though I might not have fully installed the RAM during testing. Now I see display output, but I still crash when Windows is running for about five seconds. I can boot into BIOS, so that’s possible.

Initiating a fresh Windows installation, likely due to corrupted system files.
