I was testing my graphics card from a 5700xt to a 1070 ti. After installing the new one, the computer still won't show any image even though the fans are running. CPU model: I7-7700k Motherboard: Asus Prime H270M Plus Graphics Cards: Thick 2 5700xt and Asus ROG 1070 ti RAM: GSKill 16gb 2133mhz Power Supply: Corsair CX600
It seems you're trying to figure out what's going on with your setup. You mentioned checking the CMOS reset and trying a different display, but it's unclear if that helped. It might be worth confirming whether another device or PC is still working with the display. As for advice, the only thing I can suggest beyond what's already shared is that a short could be possible during the swap, though it seems unlikely given your setup. I'll follow up with more ideas if you have any other thoughts.
We understand the display functions properly. Could you clarify how to restore the CMOS settings? Thank you for your guidance.
Reset the UEFI configuration by clearing the CMOS using these options: 1. Navigate to the Exit section in the UEFI and choose Load Optimized Defaults. 2. Locate and press the Clear CMOS button on your motherboard. 3. Disconnect the computer, remove the coin cell battery from the motherboard for a short time, then reattach it.
Turn off the device and take out the coin cell battery from the motherboard for a short time, then put it back in.
