Begin with your setup: Motherboard model GA-AB350-DS3H, CPU Ryzen 3 2200G, GPU GTX970, 650W Gold+ PSU, running Windows 10 64-bit. The process involved updating BIOS via F24, flashing to F31, and using Q-flash from a USB drive. Now the issue: after updates, the system boots but the boot screen remains unresponsive, preventing access to the OS. Despite trying various USB ports and re-setting the CMOS battery, it still won’t start.
Are you still running the 2200G or have you installed the 5500 yet? I understand that updating the BIOS on AM4 boards eliminates support for older CPU models because the BIOS can only accommodate limited code, which is why they removed older Ryzen compatibility in newer versions.
Only Bristol Ridge support was removed, affecting the A series and Athlon X4 models. The Ryzen 3 2200G remains compatible via the BIOS stack. Without supported CPUs, the system would not function properly. Consider re-flashing to F31 and updating the file if needed. There may be a corrupted installation.
I discovered the answer in a Reddit discussion about an NVMe setup. Plugging in the drive led to the system failing for an unclear reason tied to the BIOS version.
