When I power on my secondary PC, it restarts three times before fully booting. Once it works, it randomly displays blue screens with varying memory-related messages. A few weeks ago, after turning it on while downloading movies, it started immediately. Since it had downloaded files from my main PC via Ethernet, everything worked smoothly until I connected a USB drive to transfer more movies. It restarted normally then. Today, plugging in the Ethernet cable caused another blue screen, which reminded me of an old photo from that incident. The seller replaced the M.2 SSD, suspecting it was the issue, but I bought the machine secondhand and it functioned well for a while before random blue screens appeared again. After a few months, after watching a movie, it finally stabilized, but now it still restarts and shows blue screens. I’m considering the motherboard might be the problem and would appreciate more advice, so I’ll share my specs later when I’m off work.
All three issues revolve around the hard drive. Problems include damaged sectors, a malfunctioning disk, and data corruption.
We believed the m.2 SSD was problematic, so we replaced it temporarily—it worked for a while but the issue is recurring. The blue screens were similar to before we resolved it. I didn’t capture the screen quickly enough when it triggered another one. Would it be wise to try a basic affordable motherboard to test the components?
I might attempt to recreate the display I received earlier by transferring files or connecting via Ethernet tomorrow. If I capture the blue screens, I’ll share them, search for feedback, and gather opinions.
