Device remains active despite Windows 10 shutdown issues.
My computer keeps turning on after shutting down. It powers off briefly, then restarts itself again almost instantly. This has happened before with Windows 10, but it only began about six months after setting up my new machine. The problem has persisted for nearly a year, and I rarely leave the PC on. Once it restarts to the login screen, it works fine, but now even that doesn’t function properly. To turn it off, I have to press the power button, which worries me. I’ve searched online and tried most suggested solutions, but nothing fixed it. I’m considering a full Windows reinstall, though I’m unsure if it’s hardware-related—maybe my motherboard is faulty (sorry if this isn’t the right place). It happens daily, and I sometimes hear the Windows sound without any reason. If anyone has tips or ways to check if the issue is hardware-based, I’d really appreciate it. My system specs are: 11700k processor, B560M Mortar chipset, MSI B560M Ventus 3080ti, 32GB RAM, 3600MHz, 1TB SSD, Crucial P5 Plush M.2, 750W PSU, Super Flower case.
I'm experiencing the same issues yesterday as well. I'm using Windows 10 with Crucial MX500. When I put the PC to sleep and the monitor turns off, the computer stays on with all fans running. It doesn't respond to any buttons, so I had to press the power button to shut it down. After restarting, I tried the 'shut down' option but the same problem occurred. Today, after switching the SATA data cable, everything works properly. I'm hoping this will allow the PC to sleep more smoothly in the future.
