Started the day noticing my screen remained blank despite normal power-up signals. When I powered on, the monitor would briefly activate and then shut down, only to restart when I switched it off. It seemed this only happened with DP connections. I tested using the same setup on my laptop, but nothing worked. The issue appeared sudden—no prior problems with DP in the past. Since HDMI works fine, the problem likely lies with the monitor itself. I’m puzzled why it detects a signal during boot but fails afterward, while HDMI and DVI operate correctly. This has happened before with similar setups. My monitor is an Asus VG248QE (144Hz, 1080p, 24") connected via an EVGA XC RTX 2080. I’ve tried reseating cables, switching ports, updated drivers, and even used a different PC.
I've encountered problems with my Asus monitor not functioning with DP. I assumed the issue was damaging my DP cables, so I switched to HDMI for a while. After a few days, I reverted back to DP using the same cables and everything worked fine. Consider testing HDMI briefly before returning to DP. Also, try fully resetting the monitor by unplugging the power adapter or cable and waiting a short time. Hope these suggestions help!
