Hello, I just got my new AMD Ryzen 5 and installed it in my computer. When I turned it on, the fans started spinning but there was no display. There was a CPU debug light indicating the issue is likely with the CPU. After reseating the CPU and clearing CMOS, I searched online for a fix and found that updating my BIOS might help. However, now that I’ve switched back to the AMD Ryzen 3, my PC boots up but still doesn’t show anything. I’m really worried because I can’t attend online classes without it! Thank you for your help.

They are Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 processors, both from the Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 series.

With Zen 2 (third generation), a B350 model is highly improbable to support it.

I agree, but they had a Ryzen 3 that could have updated the BIOS. I’m more worried about the CMOS being handled incorrectly. If that didn’t work, it might have altered his BIOS settings, preventing the Ryzen 3 from being recognized.

Oh no, I missed the CMOS. That might be quite risky

You're considering a 2nd generation setup. Maybe it's time to upgrade your motherboard?

You should consider upgrading. Your Mobo is a first-generation model. After clearing the CMOS, it missed BIOS updates for second and third-gen boards. An x570 or b450 will work well.
