Hello, I've assembled a computer about three years ago and have been facing problems where my device or screens become overly sensitive to static electricity. For instance, my computer would turn on unexpectedly, or my screens would briefly go black before returning to normal. During tests, I rubbed my socks on the carpet near my desk, then touched a phone charger connected to the same outlet and it would start the computer. While gaming, my screens would sometimes freeze completely and then refresh after a short time. Recently, touching exposed metal on my Xbox controller—charged through a cable to the wall outlet—caused the screens to go black. It seems static electricity might be affecting my setup, though I'm not sure why. The hardware details are: Corsair Obsidian 500D power supply, i9-9900K CPU, 2080ti RTX GPU, Samsung LC27RG50FQNXZA monitors. Photos show the charger, desk, and carpet in Canada. Anyone know the cause? It could be related to the wall outlet itself.

I also have static issues. It happens when I leave my upholstered chair. I added a grounded wire with a 1 MΩ resistor and touched its exposed end on the table next to my chair whenever I get up. In Canada this is only an issue during the dry winter.
