He recently installed a new computer but hasn't used it much—only a few times. After turning it on, the screen wouldn’t detect a signal until the machine was restarted. On one occasion the GPU was removed and reattached before it worked again. Two times the computer shut down while downloading a game; after restarting, everything turned on except the display, which still didn’t pick up a signal even after changing cables, monitors, or swapping the GPU. It would only show the desktop once the system was fully powered back on. He thinks it might be a faulty power supply, but he suspects a motherboard issue too. Neither of us is very experienced with these problems, so we’re looking for advice or solutions.

Use the correct cables for modular PSU. Connect the PCIe one into the 1660 port. Place the CPU on the motherboard. If previous setup was fine, consider reaching out to customer support—an RMA could be an option if needed.
