Hey everyone, just thinking about something odd I experienced recently... Not sure if this is the best spot for sharing this, but here’s what happened. About a week back, my CPU hit 80°C while playing Warzone. I thought a fresh thermal paste would help, so I cleaned it up and reapplied. That fixed the issue... until last night. While gaming, my CPU climbed to 90°C and usage hit 100%. The coolant in the AIO tubes was scorching hot, but the radiator stayed cool. I’m also frustrated by the high usage—usually it stays between 40-50%. I ran a MalwareBytes scan, but no problems were found. It’s unclear if it’s a hardware or software problem. My CPU is an i7 3930k and the AIO is a Corsair H105.
Vcore sits at 1.32 and has been operating this way for about 6 to 7 years. I’ve had the same idea before and went through everything again.
I can sense water moving, but it might be worn down and not working properly.
Before writing this, I double-checked my saved bios settings and everything seemed fine. I just played a short Warzone match while it was 90°C, only a little above the maximum temperature. I think once it hits 91°C, the processors will need to push harder to maintain performance.
