Hello, a strange problem has arisen with my RAM. I noticed some slowdown while playing a game, so I checked and only 8 out of 16 GB were detected, meaning just one RAM slot was active. After swapping them back in, both are recognized and the system now shows 16 GB available, though it still indicates that only 8 GB can be used. I haven’t experienced this before. I’ve verified if Windows restricts my memory usage, but the setting is unchecked. Any advice would be appreciated.
Did you apply the dual channel correctly? On dual only a few ports function, and they can't be placed next to each other.
It's likely one of the slots isn't working properly. The RAM isn't missing, but it won't function correctly. This issue occurred with my previous motherboard, so it might be worth trying to reinsert the RAM.
Sure, I’ll give it another shot. But now I’m facing another issue—my RAM setup is failing and the error message “bad config settings” keeps showing up. FML
