I'm not sure about that - I used the VMWare tool for testing Win98 when I needed to check something.

If you have a USB adapter, you can create a filter to make it appear in the adapter list. Ensure the appropriate driver is installed in Linux if necessary. This approach is referenced in a similar discussion on Stack Exchange.
