The RAM might not be fully usable because the replacement didn't align properly or the system isn't recognizing the new modules. Check connections and try a different method of installation.
Swap positions? Share findings? Do you have four slots or just two? Are your sticks spread out when you have four slots?
Have you tested each stick individually to check if any are dead?
The computer had 16GB RAM visible in Task Manager a couple of years ago, but it started up after months and now only has 8GB available. Windows would not display the full 16GB if the RAM stick was dead.
