I swapped out my motherboard since the previous one failed. After uploading everything and being informed about a new CPU, I pressed the required key and it stopped immediately afterward. I realize there’s no CPU cooler because installation is difficult, so I double-checked everything before mounting it. I’ve tried reseating the RAM, unplugging the ATX and CPU cables, and the power supply cable. The Front Panel header remains connected.
Running without a cooler isn't advisable and could lead to issues even though the chip is designed to slow down when overheating. Without a CPU fan connected, the board may trigger an error or enter safety mode to safeguard the chip. Some boards allow disabling this protection, others don't, but it's never wise to skip a cooler—even during testing. You can install a cooler before placing the board in its case. What to do: Secure the cooler to the CPU and connect the fan to its header so it gets recognized. If you need to remove the board from the case, install the cooler first, then reinstall it. Before powering it on: Drain the CMOS battery and let it reset any saved settings—wait about five minutes before reinserting it. Ensure all power sources are off: unplug the PSU and briefly press the power button to clear stored data. If it draws power from the PSU, use the board's reset button as well. After completing these steps, attempt to start the system.
I wouldn’t want to assume the CPU is the issue since there was no cooling during the start-up phase, but such conditions should definitely be taken into account.
I understand your perspective. Based on what I'm observing from your earlier comment, it seems the cooler wasn't installed during that trial. It appears you might have overlooked that step, as running without proper chip cooling could be problematic. If the issue persists, consider testing another chip and having the AIO or cooling system ready for immediate use.
