FTPM is a CPU-managed capability. Since its update, it triggered a warning about losing access to encrypted data when using security keys. The reason for this alert might be related to a factory inspection. You can still employ BitLocker later if needed, and no features were affected.

This happens whenever you refresh the BIOS. The issue arises only when BitLocker is active on Windows. Pressing Y to reset the TPM should activate it, and you might want to verify it's turned on in the BIOS as well.

You're confirming that bios shouldn't influence TPM at all. It's important to note it shouldn't impact the real one, as they're stored on different chips, and fTPM relies on the CPU.

Bios updates often involve modifying the FTMP settings. I’ve had to reinstall it after each update on my system too. Even without explicit mention, it’s wise to turn off BitLocker just in case.

I’m still not sure if the backup is only suggested for security or required by law. That’s understandable. Thanks for clarifying a bit. By the way, @MaxFlow, this kind of discussion doesn’t matter unless you enable Bitlocker; if not, don’t stress about it.
