Hey there... I'm having trouble figuring out what's going on with this new setup. The combination seems right, but it doesn't start up properly. The diagnostic isn't giving a clear picture. When I disable the GPU, it gives 8 beeps after the main boot sound. That might indicate a memory issue. On my PCIE Nvidia K600, there are no error beeps, but the GPU is showing some strange output and the monitor turns off with a black screen. Removing the RAM causes the board to keep beeping. Even with just one of the two RAM sticks, the behavior stays the same. I don’t have any hardware to try swapping or test further, but maybe someone with more experience could help me out?

The i3-10100F lacks an integrated GPU and without a dedicated card it will not boot properly because no VGA is detected. All Intel F-SKU models disable their built-in GPUs. Can you access the BIOS? Press F8 or Del to enter; if the splash doesn't appear, try using DVI-I or DisplayPort as alternatives.

Oh no, that's not good—I accidentally got the wrong CPU. I'll place a new order for the 10100 without F. Thanks for catching that! This makes me wonder why the external GPU isn't working either (it's a second-hand card I haven't used). I'll try a different one.

F-SKU CPUs usually cost less because the built-in graphics are turned off, which might be due to a problem detected during binning. The external card should function properly. You could try a different card or install it on a known working system to determine if the issue lies with the card itself.

Uncertain about the K600, yet it's quite outdated (released in Q1 2013) and matches performance levels of a GT 630.

Regarding that k600, it was the DP-to-HDMI adapter I was using which didn’t work. I haven’t spent much time fixing things lately. However, when there are too many unknown components at once, the system still starts up. I believe I’ll update the BIOS next. It looks like the SATA drives sometimes can’t be found intermittently.
