Hi there! This problem has been ongoing for a while and keeps appearing unexpectedly. After updating Windows, it still doesn’t resolve. My setup includes a Legion 7 laptop (R7 5800H, RTX 3080, 32GB Crucial RAM) with two SSDs – the built-in one and a 2TB Sandisk Extreme Pro from my old machine. The Sandisk is the one causing issues. Device Manager lists it, Task Manager shows graphs, and Disk Management recognizes it too. Whenever I try to open Disk Management after closing it, it prompts “Click OK” but the error persists. I checked CHKDSK and sfc /scannow, but nothing worked. This drive is my game drive, and replacing it would be costly and time-consuming. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This was a reply from a Microsoft tech to another forum member. A CRC error suggests the drive is failing. If you bought it recently, return it and get a replacement under warranty—CRC issues can't be resolved. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...1288181d7c

I've had this drive for about 3 years now, is there seriously no fix for it?

It seems like you're considering upgrading your storage. The prices for 2TB SSDs have dropped significantly since you bought yours, making Gen 4 options more affordable. You're thinking about the Crucial P5 Plus—though you won't get the Gen 4 speed boosts, having a dedicated desktop could let you access those speeds directly.
