Hello! I assembled my new computer yesterday and everything functioned perfectly when I went to sleep. I kept it running overnight to stream YouTube to aid my sleep. Upon waking, the screen appeared black. I assumed it had entered hibernation, but it didn’t react when I attempted to wake it. I restarted via the power button and let it boot normally. However, I encountered a blue screen displaying "inaccessible boot device." I wondered what might have occurred during the night while using VLC that led to corrupted windows. What should I do about it? There was an update waiting when I went to bed. Did Windows automatically skip updates, or did something go wrong? The system details are: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, MSI Mag X679E Tomahawk Wi-Fi, Kingston Fury 32GB, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB NVMe, PCIe 4.0 M.2 Plus, plus a few other components. It might have been helpful to clone my old C: drive onto the new disk so it wouldn’t require a clean install. Trying to avoid a clean installation if possible. Frustrating as it was, I cleaned the old C: drive after confirming the new one worked correctly.

Restart Windows without using the SSD to avoid losing your data. Perhaps a power cut or sudden shutdown occurred, which could cause harm. A fresh installation is the best solution to fix the issue.

Turn off Windows Update via Services. Updates don't resolve issues—they often introduce problems and render the computer unusable.

I turned off automatic updates, and the system stayed running. The fans kept spinning but there was only a black screen when I opened it. Reinstalling might be the best option.
