Device not reachable after hardware upgrade
It's unusual since you can still see the drives and the old CPU is recognized by Windows after installation. Typically, a new CPU resets things, requiring configuration of settings like CSM, UEXI, Secure Boot, or XMP. If that doesn't work, I'd try flashing the BIOS on the 13th board and then set up booting again.
Welp gave it a chance today, experimented with the newest BIOS updates but nothing worked. Changed several settings with CSM enabled and disabled, tried fixing Windows, attempted another reinstall, and turned off Intel Rapid Storage without success. I felt worried because adjusting all BIOS options seemed risky—like when I installed the 12700k and almost lost my old setup after a few restarts. I also bought another motherboard and had enough parts for an HTPC, so I tried the 13700k in that system. Everything ran smoothly, and I managed to install Windows 11 without issues. Still puzzled about why I can’t just upgrade with the first Z690 or even do a clean install with the new CPU, but after not using my PC for a while, I think I’ll keep trying until I find more motivation. Maybe the next move would be reaching out to ASUS support.
