Device not detecting signal despite prior functionality
Hey there, I’ve got a setup with three monitors. The first uses an ASUS VG248QE, connected via a display port; the second is an HP 27er linked with an HDMI cable; and the third is a Wacom 16, also via HDMI to a display port dongle. Recently, the ASUS VG248QE stopped functioning. When I connected the video cable and powered on the PC, it reported no signal. I thought the cable was faulty, so I replaced it with a new one, but it still didn’t work.
I’ve tried numerous solutions: reinstalling and resetting graphics drivers, changing driver settings, switching the cable to a different port, rebooting and reconnecting, and even using an HDMI to Display Port adapter. However, nothing resolved the issue.
I noticed my graphics card only has one HDMI port and three DisplayPort inputs. The third monitor works perfectly when plugged into a DisplayPort, but the first one remains unresponsive. In Windows settings, I can select monitors, but it shows “Display 1 isn’t active” and locks the multiple displays menu to “Disconnect this display.” When I connect another monitor, dragging it in works, but no display appears.
It seems the cable is functional, the monitor is operational, and Windows detects it, yet no signal reaches it. I’m considering a different HDMI to DisplayPort adapter, though I’m worried about the 144Hz limitation. My PC specs are: Windows 10 64-bit, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, 3.8 GHz, 8-core processor, ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F, ATX, AM4, Corsair Vengeance LPX, 4x8GB DDR4, Samsung memory drives, and a 2TB SSD.
Turn off the power and remove the display cables from the monitor. Wait until the power indicator stops working, then reconnect everything and attempt again. You can find instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFa-pEJM5hk
