I've been using the same controllers for about a year now. (Scuf Impact) Today my PC no longer recognizes either one. No programs or software do. DS4, warzone, Steam—nothing picks them up. I've tested various USB cables. Have you ever faced this issue before?

I’m thinking about this from different angles. First, I wonder if the controller actually powers on when connected properly—like whether lights come on or it responds at all. When unplugged, checking Device Manager and reinserting it should show up correctly. If not, that could indicate a hardware issue. But if it does appear, clearing the driver by clicking the delete option might help before trying again.

I've experienced this problem multiple times and resolved it by linking the controller via Bluetooth. Use a Bluetooth dongle, press and hold both the PS4 and share buttons until the controller lights up. Then connect the device on your computer using Bluetooth to discover it. This typically works for me. It seems like DS4 has some issues with detection. When the controller is plugged in but not recognized, checking the Windows Game Controller settings still lists it there, even though no games can see it properly. However, the Bluetooth method usually fixes it. That's why I decided to purchase a wired Xbox Series S controller—no driver troubles or visibility problems.

It continues to work effectively. When connected, the orange light pulses gently in and out. It isn’t recognized by any system on the PC. This seems unusual and might not be related to the controllers. It appears to be functioning with two distinct PS4 controllers. Adding an Xbox and PS5 controller caused immediate identification of both devices.
