Device not detected on system
Hi! Your external drives seem to be functioning properly on your Mac, but they’re not showing up in the system. They make noise and have LEDs, yet they go to sleep when they’re not detected. It’s strange since you can still access them with Paragon NTFS for Mac and they work well in an Ubuntu VM. You might want to check the drive connections, power settings, or try a different USB port. Also, ensure the macOS version supports the drives you’re using. Let me know if you need more help!
MacOS often shows sensitivity with this kind of configuration even when using Paragon. You could run a disk check in a Windows setup on the drives; if you don’t have a dedicated Windows machine, consider using a portable OS like WinPE. If that fails and the drives still aren’t appearing on the Mac, they might just be file storage devices. In that case, it’s best to move the data off them, format them with Exfat instead of NTFS, and then bring the files back.
Sure, I'll connect them and proceed. Running a VM in Parallels with a complete Windows version is definitely an option. For your curiosity, could you try placing Windows PE on a USB drive to have a ready-to-use Windows installation for quick setups? That would be really convenient.
Sure, I understand. I'll proceed with using a VM that supports Parallels.
I haven't performed a chkdsk check yet, but the Paragon NTFS update is now functioning properly. The macOS Sonoma update helped make it compatible.
