Hi, I'm trying to upgrade my GT 710 (2GB) to a GTX 670 (4GB) and I'm using an H61M-P31 motherboard (G3). I added the PCI-e cables from the PSU, but the GPU light shows green while the card isn<|pad|>. It doesn't show up on monitors or in Device Manager. I connected a secondary display to the motherboard to check, but still can't get an image. When I try to install drivers, it says "card not connected" even though it was connected. Any advice or fixes? (Also, this is my first topic.)

Verify the card is correctly placed in the PCI slot—it should produce a clear click when inserted. When you take it out, gently clean the area with a soft brush to remove any debris.

I've already completed all of this through extensive research on Google and YouTube.

It came from my friend, worked well, and didn't appear in the device manager.

The card isn't visible in the device manager. I'm unsure of your PSU, but the cables usually have clear markings. Make sure the pins in the socket aren't bent and listen for an audible click when inserted correctly. The side of the cable often has a clip for securing it. You might also want to try a different PCI slot—it could run slower but might be detected by the manager, helping with driver installation. If none of these work, you could ask a friend to try the card in their PC again to confirm it's functioning. It's possible static exposure between removal and insertion could affect performance.

Yes, the BIOS is set to UEFI mode. There is an available BIOS update.

I rely on the old setup from the day I got the motherboard. I believe there are BIOS updates out there, but I’m nervous about trying them since I’m not very experienced with software.

Attempt to switch to UEFI mode, this may allow recognition of the card.
