I set up a 1TB Samsung 990 Pro as an extra SSD on my Dell G15 5511, but it isn’t being read. Any advice? I’ll share a photo of the motherboard below. (If the setup feels off, I bought it on Facebook for $100 and have used it for two years—perfect performance.) I’m running Windows 11, 64-bit.

Does the SSD show up in Disk Management? Perhaps you need to assign it a drive letter. Sorry for the unclear English

You may need to change the drive settings by entering disc format, then enter it in the Start menu. If you notice a drive with no partitions (shown in black), right-click and format it.

Only the drive I previously accessed is displayed, other drives remain hidden.

You might want to connect another machine and check if it appears. It could be a faulty port or a drive that’s not working. Otherwise, I’m not certain.

I can refresh my drivers, but if that fails, you might be correct.

The mainboard uses the HM570 chipset and is compatible with PCIe 3.0. The Samsung 990 Pro supports PCIe 4.0. I should inquire with Samsung about PCIe 3.0 compatibility for the SSD.
